About this role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Front-end Engineer to join our multi-strategy hedge fund team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building web applications from the ground up (zero to one experience) and a deep understanding of modern front-end technologies. The role demands an individual passionate about technology, thriving in challenging situations, and eager to drive advancements in the hedge fund landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend systems and applications.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members.

• Mentor and guide Junior Engineers, emphasizing best practices.

• Work independently, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and self-drive.

• Be versatile and ready to take on various roles as required.

• Demonstrates strong ownership, able to address production issues promptly and communicate the resolution process confidently to stakeholders without panicking.

Requirements 

• Bachelors' or above in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 7 years of experience in building web applications in a modern front-end stack like React.js/Redux/Node.js.

• Deep experience with Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript , HTML/CSS and RESTful APIs.

• Deep experience with React.js and its lifecycles and hooks.

• Strong experience with agile processes, testing, CI/CD and production error/metrics monitoring.

• Eager and willing to learn new things. Staying up to date with the latest technologies.

• Ability to think through architectural problems, find reasonable solutions, and work with other members to build them.

• A keen eye for design and detail to deliver joyous experiences to our end-users.

• Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership & bias for action.

Nice-to-Haves 

• Familiarity with finance and trading domain, particularly in multi-strategy hedge funds, is a significant plus.

• Experience working in full-stack development including but not limited to server-side programming, RESTful API / GraphQL development, etc.

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, AWS/GCP, CDNs, etc.

• Integration experience with financial systems such as Bloomberg API.

• Experience in developing complex distributed systems or building sizable applications from scratch.
