About this role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer to join our multi-strategy hedge fund team. The ideal candidate is proficient in Python, has strong experience in Rust or C++, and brings familiarity with one of the JVM languages. The role demands an individual passionate about technology, thriving in challenging situations, and eager to drive advancements in the hedge fund landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend systems and applications. 

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members. 

• Mentor and guide Junior Engineers, emphasizing best practices. 

• Work independently, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and self-drive. 

• Be versatile and ready to take on various roles as required. 

• Demonstrates strong ownership, able to address production issues promptly and communicate the resolution process confidently to stakeholders without panicking. 

Requirements 

• Minimum of 8 years of backend development experience. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience. 

• Strong experience in in Python (must), Rust (strong bonus), C++, one of the JVM languages (Java / Scala)  

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Microservice architecture is essential. 

• A genuine interest in the capital market. 

• Be present at the office at least 4 times a week. 

Nice-to-Haves 

• Proficiency in using AI-coding assistant tools such as Github Copilot, and the ability to leverage AI to boost productivity while being mindful of risks. 

• Integration experience with financial systems such as Bloomberg API. 

• Experience in developing complex distributed systems or building sizable applications from scratch. 

• Experience in DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform
