Platform Engineer (Cloud, DevOps & SRE)

About the Role

Core Tech Team | Singapore 

We are looking for a passionate Platform Engineer to join our engineering team, focusing on Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) functions.
 This role will help design, build, and maintain our scalable AWS-based platform — ensuring high availability, security, observability, and performance across critical systems.
You’ll work closely with Portfolio Managers, Developers, TechOps, and data engineering, enabling efficient delivery through infrastructure automation and intelligent operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)

• Design, manage, and scale cloud environments including ECS clusters, EKS (Kubernetes), EC2 instances and other cloud services.

• Important to understand multi-tenant cloud which can scale up and down based on requirement.

• Implement and manage secure cloud networking components — Transit Gateways (TGW), Direct Connect, VPC peering, Route 53, and related configurations.

• Configure and maintain SFTP servers for external partner integrations and automated file exchanges.

• Build and maintain AWS Lambda functions for automation tasks such as file ingestion and delivery via S3 and SFTP.

• Manage and audit IAM roles, SCPs (Service Control Policies), and GuardDuty for account-level governance and security.

• Hands on AWS RDS databases like Aurora Serverless and have managed statefulset in microservices environment.

• Deployed and managed API gateway or similar service.

  
  

DevOps & Infrastructure as Code

• Develop and maintain Terraform modules for infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.

• Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring repeatable, auditable, and secure deployment workflows.

• Enforce git best practices for environment management, branching strategies, and version control.

• Collaborate with developers to containerise applications, optimize build pipelines, and manage deployment strategies across staging and production environments.

• Managed or used some package manager like Jfrog.

  
  

SRE & Observability

• Hands on monitoring and dashboard tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog etc

• Good understanding of logging framework and hands on tools like elasticsearch, opensearch etc.

• Implement and maintain observability using CloudWatch, metrics, logs, and alarms.

• Build and refine CloudWatch subscription filters, forwarding alerts to Incident.io / Slack for real-time issue response.

• Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, reliability risks, and capacity issues.

• Contribute to post-incident reviews and automate recovery procedures where possible.

  
  

AI & Automation (Good-to-Have)

• Experience or interest in integrating AI tools into DevOps workflows (e.g., predictive alerting, automated diagnostics).

• Exposure to building or maintaining Slackbots or automation workflows powered by LLMs (Large Language Models) or AI APIs.

  
  

Key Skills and Qualifications

Required

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS, EC2, S3, EKS, Lambda, IAM).

• Strong understanding of traceability and observability environment

• Proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.

• Good understanding of networking — VPC design, subnets, routing, NAT gateways, VPNs, and Direct Connect.

• Solid background in Linux administration, monitoring, and SRE concepts (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets).

• Familiarity with security best practices, including IAM policy design, GuardDuty alerts, and AWS SCPs.

• Able to code in python to write lambdas independently

  
  

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of GoLang for building any Terraform or EKS operators if required.

• Familiarity with AI-powered tools, automation workflows, or Slack/Chat bots.

• Exposure to data transfer automation between internal systems and external brokers (SFTP/S3).

• Prior experience in financial services, trading platforms, or regulated environments.
