Mid-level RAD Developer

About this role

We are a dynamic and innovative multi-strategy hedge fund with a strong presence in Singapore and Hong Kong. Our team leverages advanced technologies and methodologies to deliver superior investment performance. We are seeking a talented Front Office & Middle Office facing RAD Developer to join our growing team.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient applications using RAD methodologies.

  • Investigate and resolve production issues with speed and precision.

  • Quickly build and iterate on prototypes to demonstrate new concepts and features.

  • Work closely with portfolio managers, analysts, middle office analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.

  • Integrate new solutions with existing systems and platforms to ensure seamless operation.

  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure applications are bug-free and meet performance standards.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for developed applications and systems.

  • Monitor and maintain applications in production, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Employ adaptive processes to enhance software development by focusing on iterative feedback, risk reduction, and early user involvement.


Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in fast-paced trader and portfolio manager-facing functions is essential.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development, with a focus on rapid application development.

  • Proficiency in RAD tools and methodologies.

  • Strong Python (3.x) programming skills.

  • High proficiency with Excel and Excel VBA.

  • Experience with cloud technologies and PostgreSQL.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

  • Proficiency with Bloomberg Terminal and Bloomberg Desktop API is a must.

  • Modern API platform design (REST, gRPC, etc.).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle urgency and stressful situations effectively.

  • Experience working in Agile development environments.


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in Java and/or Rust.

  • Experience with Agile and TDD methodologies is advantageous.

  • Understanding of financial derivatives such as IRS, Swaption, Forward, Futures, and Cross-currency basis swaps.

  • Understanding of Market Risk concepts including VaR, ES, CVaR, and Monte Carlo techniques.

  • Experience with the Quantlib library.

  • Experience with FlexTrade, Arcesium, and Bloomberg MARS.
