About the role

We are a dynamic and fast-growing multi-strategy hedge fund with global operations, currently expanding our Legal function. With a lean and collaborative team structure, we offer significant opportunities for personal and professional growth. We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team. This role is ideal for a lawyer qualified in a common law jurisdiction with experience in corporate law, employment law, financial regulation, fund operations and litigation gained in private practice or in-house at a financial services firm.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is eager to grow with the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents including service agreements, employment contracts, and fund-related documents.

  • Provide legal support across a broad range of matters, including employment matters, corporate governance, litigation, and regulatory compliance.

  • Advise on fund operations, structuring, and investment management issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Engage and manage external counsel.

  • Monitor legal developments across key jurisdictions and markets that may impact the firm’s operations.

  • Support internal stakeholders in navigating legal risks in a fast-moving investment and operational landscape.


Key Requirements

  • Lawyer with 5–7 years PQE, ideally trained in a top-tier law firm and qualified in a common law jurisdiction.

  • Strong document review and drafting skills.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks of financial markets, hedge fund and investment manager structures and employment matters.

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
